Get a cruise ship job, how to get a cruise ship job, tips to get a cruise ship job, get a cruise ship job in any country with our tips and advice.
Any nationality can work on any cruise ship, so it will not matter which country you come from, but you should check to see if you have to pay tax and if so to which country you have to pay it, if you do not have a particular skill you can get an unskilled job such as in the laundry room or if you are aged between 16 and 22 you can ask if the cruise line run a cadets course, these can train you up to be a valuable and well paid member of the ships staff.
There are few age limits for cruise ship jobs so long as you are between 21 and 65 you should have no problems except if you work in the beauty industry where the lower limit is usually 19, you don’t need to have previous shipboard experience to get a job on a cruise ship but obviously you need experience in the job that you have applied for, for example if you apply for a job as a photographer you must have some experience in that trade and be able to provide proof of that, if you have no experience at all then it is best to apply for unskilled cruise ship jobs and there are plenty of them to apply for.
When you get a job on a cruise liner you will get a contract, this is normally for three to six months long but at the end of the contract so long as you have done a good job you should be offered a renewal of your contract, so in this way you could continue to work on the same ship for years if you decide to do that, you will of course need a valid passport and depending which country you originate from you may need a seamans visa, you can check with your embassy or consulate about this.
