When you get a job on a cruise ship you become a crew member and as such you are entitled to duty free prices plus a twenty five per cent discount on all goods that you purchase in the boutiques on board ship, be aware that the cruise lines take a very hard line on drugs of any kind, any crew members found to be using, buying or selling drugs are immediately dismissed and handed over to the local police in whatever port you are in or get to next and some of the prisons in the ports that you will be going to are not nice places also there are frequent drug tests performed on crew members.

When or if you get a job on a cruise ship be prepared to work and also be prepared for discipline because a ship can’t work without the crew having discipline, you will be required to take part in fire drils and safety drills this will involve demonstrating some of the safety equipment to the passengers and of course lifeboad drills, it may be stating the obvious but you should be prepared to be away from home for a long period of time and share limited room space with your fellow workers on board the cruise ship.
